This time, I’d like to share my experience with Meiji Amino Collagen that I’ve been taking it daily for the past two months. And I am going to tell why I’m so in love with it!
Collagen is the main structural protein of the various connective tissues in animals, helping to give strength to various structures of the body and also protects structures like the skin by preventing absorption and spreading of pathogenic substances, environmental toxins, micro-organisms and cancerous cells.
With age, collagen production slows and the cells structures weaken. The skin gets thinner and is easier to damage. For me, after reaching 28, my skin gets dehydrated easier because it starts lose the ability to create collagen.
Meiji Amino Collagen holding the key to “youthfulness and beauty” is like my “skin savior.”
After drinking it daily for two months, I found my skin is more hydrated. When I wake up, I note that my usually very very oily skin feels less oily and has more like a healthy glow instead. Also, my skin seems to look brighter and feels much softer. I’m not only talking about the face, but also about my entire skin.
Comparison between Meiji Amino Collagen and Premium version
I’ve tried both, the regular Meiji Amino Collagen and the Premium version. The only difference between the regular and the premium is that the premium contains 60mg Hyaluronic acid, which keeps your skin plump and smooth and 10mg Coenzyme Q10, which boosts skin repair and regeneration, per 7g of powder. Besides, the powder of the regular one is a bit harder to dissolve.
The premium one usually costs $20 more than the regular one. You may ask, “does the premium one really worth the price?” Well, it depends. I should say you get what you pay for. If you just want a better skin, the regular one will suffice. But if you want more benefits, you should try the premium version.

Recent studies show that vitamin C plays a very important role in collagen synthesis. If you don’t take collagen supplements with vitamin C, it won’t be absorbed into your bloodstream, which means they won’t make it to your skin.
Although both the regular Meiji Amino Collagen and the premium version contain 50 mg vitamin C per 7g, it’s still not enough (I think).
In order to help my body effectively absorb the collagen supplement, I always drink it with Emergen-C, which contains 1000 mg vitamin C. Besides, Meiji Amino Collagen has a wired and unpleasant taste but Emergen-C can make the taste much better.
^ Mix Meiji Amino Collagen Premium with Emergen-C
All in all, it’s no brainier that Meiji Amino Collagen (both regular and premium) really works. If you are the same age as me and start feeling that your skin isn’t as good as before, you should consider drinking it.

Let’s talk about hair growth.
My hair used to be thick, healthy, and full of volume but now it’s getting thinner. I think I am experiencing hair loss at the age of 30 (good grief! I am still young right!?) When I was aware that tragic thing is happening to me, I started seeking some remedies that can grow back my hair. I tried a lot of methods and products but not everything worked out as I expected. Yet, I still found some ways that really help enhance hair growth.
I am gonna rate it FIVE stars!!
Biotin is a water-soluble B-vitamin (vitamin B7). It’s an important nutrient to help prevent hair loss.
There are various kinds of biotin product in drugstores. Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg is one of the highest doses of biotin on the market. I’ve been using it for almost 3 months and so far so good with these pills. My hair has been growing faster and getting thicker. Even the bald spots in the middle of my eyebrows have been growing back too!

What kind of musical was banned in Argentina, but received enthusiastic responses in the rest of the world?
What kind of role attracted pop queen Madonna and made her strive to win the chance to perform in the musical movie?
“Evita” which is one of the most successful musicals, features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The show is based on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Peron who became the spiritual leader of the nation rising from nothing to the most famous political figure in the country’s history.
The action begins with Eva Peron’s funeral. All people wear black and sing “Requiem,” lamenting over the death of their respectful leader. When everyone in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, immerses in grief, Che, an everyman, is the one who still retains his hard sanity.
Che acts as the voice of the people and represents the spirit of the whole show. He sees things that the rest of the people cannot. He is living the life of the peasants in Argentina and going through life painfully and in poverty. The hope that Eva brings gets him and the people excited but she fails to deliver her promises.
At first, it seems like Eva is one of those people, and that is how she gains the popularity of the people. But after she gets power mad, she doesn’t keep her promises. She cares much more about her own fame. All these things contribute towards the angry Che.
“Evita” is all about the cruel political strategies of political movements and radical social changes that hide underneath media manipulation. It is not a show to simply pay tribute to Eva Peron, one of the powerful women in Argentina’s history, but to depict the dark sides of human beings.
“Evita” has been played for over hundreds and thousands of performances. This time, the show performing at the Paramount Theatre brings the classics to Seattle. Overall, the set and consumes in the show were stunning that made the audience feel like they were back to 1940s in Argentina. The dancing was gorgeous with actors weaving in tango beautifully yet subtle ways.
Caroline Bowman as Eva Peron has a beautiful voice. I expected she can get a much more emotional reaction out of me. However, I kept thinking of Madonna when watching the show. If Madonna has my heart over a live show, I know Bowman lacked something that can make this role more iconic.
Yet, “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina” is still looping in my heart. Andrew Lloyd Webber definitely created another great musical in the 20th century that can rival “The Phantom of the Opera.”
Most hero stories tell people that you don’t need be afraid of evil because superheroes will always come to save you. They are smart, strong, and flawless. They are the saviors of the world. This is how superhero movies persuade the audience. It is a sort of presentation of cultural imperialism.
But this time, in Iron Man 3, Tony Stark, a man who saved America from the attacks of aliens and terrorists, is not strong anymore.
After perceiving the super powers of the aliens, Thor and Loki in the Avengers, Tony finally realizes that he is not as powerful as he used to think. He cannot protect the one he loves in his whole life. Therefore, he is suffering insomnia and panic attacks.
Different from the foes in the Iron Man 1 and 2, the enemy he confronts this time, the Mandarin, has a chemical and biological nature. He and his minions are immortal. Although Tony has a crew of armored warriors, the iron man army, he is still beaten up by Mandarin. The intriguing part is that Pepper, who is invalid and always needs to rely on Tony’s protection, becomes strong and powerful.
In Iron Man 3, Tony is no longer a superhero who wears a solid iron suit. He is an ordinary person just like us. He is emotional. He has weakness. And He is not deathless. We finally know that Tony Stark is not an alien or a cyborg but a normal human being.
Just like every superhero movie, Mandarin is thrashed at the end and the world is safe again but Iron Man is still on his way of self-discovering.
Iron Man 3 finds a new and refreshing way to present Tony Stark, this billionaire industrialist, incorrigible genius and wearer of all-flying, all-knowing Iron Man suits. And this way definitely gives the audience an interesting and different recognition of superhero movies.
The Quebec-based Cirque du Soleil brings its latest show “Amaluna” to Washington at Marymoor Park in Redmond.
Amaluna is a fusion of two Latin words, “ama” and “luna.” “Ama” refers to “mother” and “luna” means “moon,” which is a symbol of femininity. This is the tone of the whole show, including the performance and the stage design.
The story of Amaluna, which has a cast that is more than 70 percent female, takes place on an island ruled by queen Prospera. Prospera’s beautiful daughter Miranda is growing up and falls in love with a young sailor Romeo who lands on the island accidentally. They struggle to be together but finally go through all of the obstacles at the end.
The show successfully integrates Cirque du Soleil’s basic elements — aerial acrobatics and gymnastics, slapstick clowns, Euro-pop soundtrack, and colorful sets and costumes with this creative performance, which represents women’s features — the fragility, the beauty.
The giant water bowl is the highlight of the show. Miranda has a fantastic balance routine performed in and around this giant water bowl. Romeo also performs a breath-taking display of strength in pursuit of Miranda. This dramatic act is a perfect metaphor for bliss of love.
Amaluna is a different and truly beautiful aesthetic show in Cirque du Soleil’s performance history, from the relationships between characters to the costumes and music. You definitely do not want to miss out.
When you think of “Addams Family,” what comes to your mind first? A dark, cloudy weather? A ghastly old house? The pale-skin and long-black-hair hostess Morticia? The dark- haired and grim-looking little girl Wednesday? Or the versatile but quaint hand Thing that always runs on his fingertips, like a spider?
The Addams Family is a black comedy created by cartoonist Charles Addams. The Addamses acts strangely. They share macabre interests, but they are not typically evil. Although always been seen as dreadful and queer, the Addamses still do not care how people think about them. Because of their odd and sometimes crazy lifestyle, the Addams Family finally enjoyed a high reputation among American audiences, and has made into movie series in the 1990s.
Now, in the time of Spider Man turned into musical, we are not surprised that the Addams Family decided to bring joy to stage. The show opened on Broadway in April 2010 and got an unprecedented success. It already won multiple awards for outstanding set design.
In the musical, teenager Wednesday falls in love with a sweet young man Lucas from a “normal” family, leading the Addams clan to secrets and scandal.
The plot of the story is intriguing and humorous. The play writer creatively used a lot of ironic elements, especially in character portrayal, which made excellent con. Father Gomez is the typical breadwinner of the family. He has strong affection for his wife Morticia. Their rebellious daughter Wednesday and her lover Lucas also make a deep impression on the audiences. The most comical but charming and pleasant character in the play is Uncle Fester who has crush on the Moon, yes, the real Moon.
The lighting design for the play is also unique and gorgeous. In a sweet, suspended-in-air solo, the Moon and Me, sung by Uncle Fester, the special and creative black-light theatre effect successfully catches audiences’ attention and is thought as the highlight of the show.
The Addams Family is a truly classic comedy. The musical not only keeps the pith of the original story but also creates its own performance style through the brand-new storyline and fascinating stage design, which makes the show become one of must-see musicals in recent years.
If you paid attention to this year’s Academy Awards, you probably found out that the stage design of the feast was full of old-fashioned fantasy, meaning “retro style” has taken Hollywood by storm.
However, always been known as an unconventional director, Tim Burton seems to have changed his unique style and decided to throw himself into this prevailing trend.
In his latest black-white stop-motion film,Frankenweenie, Burton borrowed several elements from famous old horror movie Frankenstein, making the atmosphere in the movie freaky and eerie.
In Frankenweenie, young Victor Frankenstein’s beloved puppy Sparky is struck by a car and loses its life. He is distraught with sorrow about Sparky’s death. One day, Victor’s science teacher Mr. Rzykruski demonstrates an experiment, using electricity to revive a dead frog.
Inspired by Mr. Rzykruski, this little boy tries to use a few bolts of lightening to resuscitate his deceased dog. His experiment succeeds and Sparky comes back to life, but Victor’s parents and neighbors are all psyched out.
The whole story of the movie is like a duplication of Frankenstein, such as using electricity to revive a dead creature and surviving the windmill fire. Even the hairstyle of Sparky’s “girlfriend” Persephone imitates the bride of Frankenstein.
But when Victor’s parents and neighbors chase after Victor and zombie Sparky, I immediately thought of those middle class people chasing and attacking Edward in Edward Scissorhands, one of Burton’s classics. In the end, Edward flees and hides in his Gothic castle. Sparky and Victor run in a windmill – just like Frankenstein.
Both Burton and Frankenstein’s director James Whale understand how sorrowful and solitary a person is when he or she cannot seem to fit in with the society. Burton was shy and lonely in his early life; Whale was a homosexual man. They instilled their views of life and philosophies into the movies, reflecting how mainstream values push aside people who are seen as freaks.
I would say Burton not only wanted to bring back the spirit of Frankenstein but also tried to make a response to Whale inFrankenweenie. Therefore, this is a movie all about a talent respecting the other talent.
Love is not always as innocent as we thought. “I love you so you should love me” is not the conservation equation in a relationship. Most of the times, we love a person who will never love us back. Ironically, there is always another person who wants to be our prince or princess but we don’t want to pay any attention to this person. Therefore, love is always about regret.
Director Ya-Che Yang sharply points out how brutal love can be in the movie, which stimulates our memories and tries to leave an open ending for us to recall what we have missed in our love lives. If you have been heartbroken, GF*BF will strike a chord with you.
